Episode 79: False Narratives Have Bad Consequences… Rebuilding Community Trust with Chris Sherwin of the 3 Cops Talk Podcast

This week’s guest, Chris Sherwin, is an active duty police officer of more than 20 years, serving the public in Chicago’s suburbs. He and 2 other active duty policeman have a vitally important podcast, 3 Cops Talk, where they face tough subjects including police brutality, racial tension, how to keep yourself and your family safe during traffic stops and so much more.ย

After all the misinformation spread by the media and politicians alike surrounding the incident in Minneapolis with George Floyd, Ferguson and other incidents where police encounters ended in tragedy, Chris and his co-hosts Scott & Shaun knew it was time to do something. Chris brings so much value to this week’s episode of the Derate The Hate podcast, and the trio of active duty coppers, along with their guests, do the same each week on their podcast. This is truly an episode you’ll want to download and share often.ย

Episode 68: Public Safety… Who Stands in the Way of Those Keeping Us Safe? …with Officer Deon Joseph

Unlessย  you’ve been under a rock or in a coma for the past year and a half, you couldn’t help but notice the unprecedented increase in crime in most of America’s largest cities. How did this come to be and Who is Standing in the Way of Those Keeping Us Safe?

Deon Joseph, who has been referred to as “the Angel of Skid Row”, is someone who knows something about public safety. In fact, he is someone who knows an awful lot about public safety and has a lot to say about why we are currently facing unprecedented increases in crime in most of our major cities, and why we are seeing an all out assault on law enforcement by groups like BLM and ANTIFA. This week I had the honor of sitting down with Officer Deon Joseph of the LAPD to discuss his thoughts on what we are currently facing, not only in Los Angeles but all over our great nation.

Episode 55: Not My Truth, Not Your Truth, There is only THE TRUTH

Have you ever heard someone say, that’s “My Truth” or “That’s his/her Truth”? I don’t know how it started, but here’s another life tip from Wilk… There is no my truth, your truth, his truth or her truth, THERE IS ONLY THE TRUTH.

In this week’s episode I had to bring up an article/video from the Daily Wire I saw of a professor at a college in southern California that was berating one of her students for a report he did where he called police heroes. She equates modern police to slave catchers in early American history. I only brought it up, because I saw on line where someone had defended her hatred by saying “that is her truth”. There is no such thing as “her truth”, there is only her hate filled perception of reality, big difference. Listen to this episode and let me know what you think. Maybe she’d benefit from episode 52 where I discuss the Reticular Activating System and the Perpetual Victim Mentality. If she would listen with an open mind I’m certain she’d benefit greatly as would anyone…

Episode 7: Misguided Anger Leads to Chaos

Wilk here from WilksWorld.com for another edition of the Derate The Hate podcast. This week we’ve seen terrible riots throughout the country as a result of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN at the hands of a bad cop. Though race has not been established as a motive, local politicians, doing what politicians do, instantly made it about race and bad actors from all over began taking to the streets. Are all cops racist, do we suffer from institutional racism? The politicians and media would have you believe so, but the facts do not support that narrative. But the media and the politicians, in an effort to whip up emotions take it there immediately and now in Minneapolis alone we’ve seen well in excess of a billion dollars in damages, businesses and lives destroyed, and outside influences who couldn’t care less about George Floyd are causing chaos all over the country. It has been my experience that there are bad actors in every walk of life, and the police are no exception. I do believe though that the vast majority of the approximately 850,000 law enforcement personnel in this country are good and are a very integral part of our civilized society. It has also been my experience that the vast majority of people don’t care about race, they just want to live their lives and see everyone get along. Race, to most people is not a determining factor in how they get along with each other in their day to day lives, but politicians and the media are always on the quick to interject it into everything. Don’t by the hype,
Just be kind to each other, be grateful for everything you’ve got, and make each and every day the day that you want it to be!!
