Level Up Your Life with Next Level Thinking… DTH Episode 136 with Kevin Palmieri

Level Up Your Life with Next Level Thinking

Sometimes in life, once we attain a goal, we realize that goal is not quite the prize that we imagined it would be. This is not to say that goals are not important, because they very much are. This is to say, that often people put to much of their personal fulfillment and joy into external results. This can lead to a whole different kind of misery. This is the time to level up your life with next level thinking.

Kevin Palmieri talks Next Level Thinking

After hitting his goal of a six-figure income, Kevin realized that there had to be more. He had the car, the money, the typical “American Dream.” It took getting it all to realize that what matters most is your thoughts. And that’s how Next Level University was born.
In this great DTH conversation, Kevin and I discuss the importance of reflection and becoming very familiar with yourself. “What do you enjoy so much that you lose track of time?” We talk about life’s purpose, good habits and consistency. And of course, we talk about Kevin’s own story and how that lead to Next Level University.

A Country At Odds With Its Own Identity… DTH Episode 126

Is our country at  odds with it’s own identity? What is our country’s true identity? My guest this week, James E. Palombo, makes the claim that there is not enough dialogue about the character and culture of our great nation.

Who is James E. Palombo?
Jim Palombo was a self-described drug dealer and wise-guy who while being incarcerated back in the 1970’s came to the realization that he didn’t want to spend his life in and out of prison and fighting the powers of our justice system. At the suggestion of a mentor while in prison, he began receiving an education. It was through this education and his own life experiences that Jim gained a unique understanding of the American experiment.

My conversation with Jim on this episode of the DTH podcast is such an important one, because while Jim and I don’t agree on some things with regard to our country, we both want to make the case that many in our country lack ideological clarity and without an informed citizenry, our country is in big trouble. Check out this great DTH conversation and be sure to share it with your network of friends!

Episode 115: Is Hate Getting in the Way of you Winning At Life? …with Dylan Rogers

Have you ever asked yourself the question, “what is the best way for me to obtain and secure a meaningful life?”. “Is hate getting in the way of me winning at life?”

 What is a meaningful life?
People find meaning in all different sorts of ways. For some, it’s family, some it’s career. For some it’s money and and for many, it’s just a matter of their own definition of success. As for this week’s guest, he knew that to secure a meaningful life, he must secure a happy life. With a background in engineering, he was determined to break down the most profound obstacles to happiness and fix the problem. What is the problem? Hate…

Dylan Rogers and his book, “Winning at Life”
Dylan J Rogers is infinitely driven to make a positive impact on the lives of others and has a relentless passion to inspire positive change.

As an experienced engineer, earning a Masters in Systems Engineering and working with the US military, Dylan developed the skills required to solve the most complex problems life has to offer. He also works as a Master Resilience Trainer, teaching Airmen how to thrive in life instead of just surviving through it. Dylan has learned from masters of change like Tony Robbins, and earned a life coaching certification through Tony’s program. And from the six year process of writing his book, Winning at Life, he has found the answer on how to discover the meaning in your life, how to create lasting happiness, and how to understand and remove the burden of hate.

Episode 97: “Program Your Life, or Life Will Program You” ~ Les Brown

Like so many out there, I too find myself, at times, getting discouraged. I was having a conversation the other day, with a gentleman that most people would probably know of, and he asked me, “Wilk, is it too late?”, meaning, is it too late to bridge this divide, are we so full of hate and animosity for those of differing opinions that it cannot be turned around? I said to him, I wouldn’t be doing the Derate the Hate podcast if I felt it was too late. But like I said, I too find myself, at times becoming discouraged, and even at times feeling almost defeated. Sometimes when I think it may be time to give up, something happens…

My wife and I were having a discussion this week about all that we have going on, and she could tell I was a bit discouraged with certain things. She asked me if I had ever heard of Les Brown? I had not, so she sent me a YouTube Video of his. That 58 minute inspirational video was pure gold. Much of what Les talks about in the video was stuff that I have talked about on the DTH podcast, but his delivery and cadence are incredible.  This is a must watch or listen to video if you are unsure of the power of you and your mindset. It also brought to mind for me, Episode 52 of the DTH podcast, so for the first time, I am bringing back a large portion of that episode in this one.  Let me know your thoughts on both!

Episode 96: Overcoming Your Triggered Ego… with Haran Singham

“Don’t just go through life, GROW through life”. That is a phrase I had not heard before, but recently I found out about Haran Singham and his group, “The Happiness Mission”. That phrase means a lot to me, because I have much personal experience in that arena.

As I look back on my life, I see a lot that I am not proud of, but much that I AM proud of as well. We are not, nor should we be, defined by one period or instance in our life. You see, I know that I have GROWN in to a much different person than I used to be.

One very important part of GROWTH is not allowing our EGO to keep us where we are, but putting our ego in check to allow needed growth. Many of us have experienced TRAUMA that helped us to build a wall, a wall that is guarded by our EGO. Why is our EGO always getting triggered? I’ve asked Haran Singham to join me on this week’s DTH podcast to help answer that question.
